Designed by John Turner, First Baptist Church was built in 1857 in Italianate style.  The curvelinear lines on the exterior lead the eye upward so that one enjoys the whole structure.

Once in the sanctuary, the light passing through the stained glass windows fills the interior with soft glowing light.  The illuminated stained glass window entitled 'The Light of the World' orginally painted by William Holman Hunt' is the primary focus of the sanctuary.
