In 1853 the Wesleyan Methodists commissioned Brantford architect, John Turner, to design their Italianate-style church, and later the manse. The prominence of this first church reflected not only the appeal of Methodsim locally, but also, the prosperity and increased sophistication as the village moved out of the pioneer era. Further alterations were made in 1963.
